Minister Mehta calls for social harmony in Sunsari

Kathmandu, July 27: Minister for Health and Food Safety Nisha Mehta has expressed sadness over the tragic incident in Dewanganj, Sunsari. She has called on everyone to uphold peace, moderation, and social harmony in this panic situation.

Paying heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in the incident, she extended her condolences to the grieving families and wishes for the swift recovery of the injured ones. The Minister’s secretariat also mentioned that they are actively coordinating efforts to ensure the injured receive the necessary medical care.

Minister Mehta urged all citizens to refrain from believing unverified information or rumors during these sensitive times and to avoid actions that could disrupt social harmony.

She expressed confidence that the relevant authorities will conduct a thorough investigation for disclosing the truth.

Situation is tense in the district after a violent clash occurred in Kaptanganj, ward 3 of Dewanganj Rural Municipality in Sunsari district, resulting in one fatality and 22 injuries, including 13 security personnel Sunday night.
