Law Minister stresses on amending laws as per people’s aspirations

Chitwan, July 27: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam has said that necessary laws must be amended to facilitate development in accordance with the people’s aspirations.

Speaking with local journalists today, she stated that the inability to formulate laws in line with public expectations would make it difficult to carry out work according to plan.

Minister Gautam said, “It is difficult to deliver results if laws are not formulated in accordance with the people’s thinking, rather than the wishes of the leadership.”

Minister Gautam said that since the fiscal year 2083/84 has been declared the ‘Year of Legal Reform,’ 166 laws need to be enacted within this fiscal year.

Stating that laws hindering work would be immediately amended, Minister Gautam mentioned that the matter regarding the 30-year service tenure and 55-year age limit in the civil service is currently ‘under process’.
