Delhi registers third consecutive win in IPL

Chennai, April 5: Delhi Capitals have secured their third consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the match held on Saturday afternoon, Delhi defeated Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs.

Chasing a target of 184 runs, Chennai could only manage 158 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Chennai, Vijay Shankar scored 69 runs off 54 balls, hitting 5 fours and a six. MS Dhoni contributed 30 runs, Shivam Dube scored 18, and Devon Conway made 13 runs.

For Delhi, Vipraj Nigam took two wickets, while Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar, and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.

Earlier, in the match held in Chennai, Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. KL Rahul was the top scorer for Delhi with 77 runs, followed by Abhishek Porel with 33, Tristan Stubbs with 24, captain Axar Patel with 21, and Sameer Rizvi with 20 runs.

For Chennai, Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja, Noor Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana grabbed one wicket each.

With this victory, Delhi now sits at the top of the table with 6 points from 3 matches. Chennai, having played one more game, is in the eighth position with just 2 points.
