Agency, Aug 29: Cristiano Ronaldo was on the scoresheet as Al Nassr came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Friday night.
Playing at Al Awwal Park, Al Nassr recovered from an early setback to maintain their perfect start to the league campaign. Samu and Ronaldo scored one goal each for the hosts, while Bassam Al Hurayji found the net for Al Taawoun.
Al Taawoun made a bright start and took the lead in the 11th minute through Al Hurayji.
However, Al Nassr fought their way back into the match before the break. In first-half stoppage time, Samu converted a pass from Sadio Mane to level the score at 1-1.
Ronaldo then completed the comeback five minutes after the restart. The Portuguese superstar found the back of the net in the 50th minute after being set up by Simakan, sealing a 2-1 victory for Al Nassr.
With the win, Al Nassr remain at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings with a perfect 12 points from four matches. Al Taawoun, meanwhile, have collected just two points from four games and sit 15th in the table.
