Government, ‘Nation and Citizen Protection Campaign’ Reach 14-Point Deal

Kathmandu, Aug, 22 : The government and the ‘Nepal Campaign for the Protection of Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens’ have reached a 14-point agreement, following which the campaign has announced the termination of all its protest and sit-in programs.

The agreement was reached after intensive negotiations between representatives of the campaign, who had entered the Kathmandu Valley and staged a sit-in at Pulchowk, Lalitpur, and the dialogue team formed by the government.

The agreement was signed by Liladhar Subedi, coordinator of the government dialogue team and joint secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and Bishnu Bohora Chhetri, coordinator of the campaign’s dialogue committee.

With the signing of the agreement, the campaign has decided to end its ongoing protest programs effective today.
