Agency, Aug 24: Barcelona made a commanding start to their La Liga campaign with a 5-0 victory over Elche on Sunday night.
Playing at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, Barcelona dominated the match from the outset, with Raphinha and Fermín López scoring twice each, while Karim Adeyemi added one goal.
Raphinha opened the scoring in the 14th minute, giving Barcelona an early lead. Elche struggled to contain Barcelona’s attacking pressure, and Adeyemi doubled the visitors’ advantage in first-half stoppage time.
Raphinha then completed his brace in the 67th minute to put Barcelona 3-0 ahead. Four minutes later, López added Barcelona’s fourth before completing his brace in the 79th minute to seal an emphatic 5-0 victory.
The result gives Barcelona three points from their opening league match and a strong start to their La Liga campaign.
