Agency, Aug 22: Defending champions Arsenal made a winning start to their English Premier League campaign, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Coventry City on Friday night.
Playing at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal dominated the match and secured all three points through goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard.
Havertz opened the scoring in the 15th minute, putting Arsenal ahead early in the match. Saka doubled the advantage eight minutes later, finding the net in the 23rd minute to give the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Ødegaard added Arsenal’s third goal in the 49th minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt. Neither side was able to find the net again as Arsenal completed a convincing 3-0 victory.
The win gives Arsenal three points from their opening Premier League fixture.
Six more Premier League matches are scheduled to be played today.
