Kathmandu, October 29 : Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma has dismissed media reports linking him to an alleged bribery case in the United States, describing them as baseless, false and fabricated.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Sharma objected to a report published by Diyopost Online and other media outlets titled, “Bribery in the US in the Name of Chief Justice Sharma and RSP MP Pokharel: Evidence Revealed by Fixer Inam’s Mobile Phone!”
He clarified that he had no involvement in the alleged case and no connection with the individuals or events mentioned in the reports.
Sharma said he had neither direct nor indirect contact or acquaintance with the individuals concerned and had never met them.
He further stated that linking his name to events allegedly occurring in November, December and January was misleading, as he had not yet assumed the position of Chief Justice during the period in question.
“I condemn the dissemination of baseless, false and fabricated news intended to mislead the public,” Sharma said in the statement. He also urged the public not to be misled by the reports.
