Tourist dies of altitude sickness in Mustang

Mustang, April 26: A tourist died of high altitude sickness in Jomsom, Mustang. Bhanu Maththhi, 63, from India’s Tamil Nadu State died in Jomsom on Sunday.

A team of 24 Indian nationals including Bhanu had arrived in Mustang district to pay homage at the Muktinath Mandir.

The District Police Office, Mustang, stated that Bhanu had a breathing issue while getting off a bus in front of a hotel in Jomsom. He was then rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Jomsom, where the doctors pronounced him dead.

With this, eight people including five foreigners (Indians and Mexicans) have died of high altitude sickness in Mustang district since last September.
