Kathmandu, June 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli observed the under-construction Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, today.
PM Oli reached the site to oversee the installation of international-standard parapets and floodlights in the cricket stadium.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh, Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development, Gopal Prasad Sigdel, and other officials briefed the PM about the progress regarding the stadium.
It may be noted that one of the first decisions taken by PM Oli upon assuming office in July 15 was to ensure the installation of parapets and floodlights at the stadium within 100 days.
Concerned over failure to complete the task within the given deadline, PM Oli had summoned the concerned authorities and had instructed to complete the task within next two months.
Separate contracts were awarded to contractors on January 3 and 4 this year for the installation of parapets and floodlights.
