Kathmandu, Aug 30: A technical team, also comprising the Nepali Army (NA) personnel, has been mobilised in the Trishuli-3 ‘B’ Hydropower Project for search and rescue operations in the aftermath of devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems.
According to the Secretariat of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the NA team, assisted by technical workforce and site engineers, has begun rescue efforts. The project chief and the chief of consulting company have also reached the project site where a significant number of project workers are believed to have been trapped inside the tunnel.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said that the search and rescue squad is carrying out operation with high alert amidst difficulties posed by adverse weather conditions and challenging terrain.
