Trent Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid

Agency, May 30:  Liverpool star full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially signed with Spanish giants Real Madrid, marking a significant shift in the European football landscape. The La Liga powerhouse confirmed the signing on Friday.

The 26-year-old was approaching the end of his contract with Liverpool, which was set to expire at the end of June. However, Real Madrid moved swiftly to secure his services ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14. According to reports, the Spanish club agreed to pay Liverpool a transfer fee of €10 million to bring the deal forward.

Alexander-Arnold becomes the second signing under newly appointed head coach Xabi Alonso, following the arrival of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth earlier this month. The England international has signed a six-year contract with Los Blancos.

During his time at Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances, playing a pivotal role in the club’s recent golden era. He was instrumental in helping the Reds win two Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League crown. Known for his exceptional vision and pinpoint delivery, he also holds the record for the most assists by a defender in Premier League history, with 64 to his name.

This transfer marks the end of an era at Anfield and the beginning of a new chapter for one of football’s most talented full-backs, as he looks to shine on a new stage at the Santiago Bernabéu.
