Kathmandu, May 8: Rajendra Tamang has been reappointed as the head coach of the Nepal women’s national football team. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed his appointment on Thursday.
Tamang will lead the team in upcoming friendly matches against Thailand and in the qualifiers for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Alongside him, Bhagwati Thapa continues as the assistant coach, Suraj Kumar Lama remains the goalkeeping coach, and Bindra Dewan retains her role as the team manager.
There has been one new addition to the coaching staff: Laxmi Bhandari has been appointed as the team’s physiotherapist.
Nepal has been drawn into Group ‘F’ of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers, alongside Laos, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan.
As part of their preparation for the qualifiers, Nepal will play two friendly matches against Thailand in Bangkok. The first match is scheduled for May 30 and will be held behind closed doors, while the second match, on June 2, has been granted official international status.
