Barcelona thrash Dortmund in Champions League quarterfinal first leg

Agency, April 10: Barcelona delivered a stunning performance in the UEFA Champions League, securing a dominant 4-0 victory over German side Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

Playing at home, the Catalan giants took control early, with Raphinha opening the scoring in the 25th minute. Robert Lewandowski then extended the lead with a goal just three minutes into the second half. The Polish striker struck again in the 66th minute, completing his brace and putting Barça firmly in command. Rising star Lamine Yamal added the fourth in the 77th minute, sealing an emphatic win for the hosts.

With this commanding advantage, Barcelona head into the second leg, scheduled for April 15, with one foot already in the semifinals.

In another quarterfinal clash held the same night, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Aston Villa 3-1. Desiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes were on target for the French side, while Morgan Rogers pulled one back for Villa. The second leg of this tie is also set for April 15.
