Madrid, April 6: It was a dramatic night in La Liga as Real Madrid suffered a surprising defeat, while league leaders Barcelona were held to a draw.

At the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Valencia in a thrilling contest. Mouctar Diakhaby opened the scoring for Valencia in the 15th minute, giving the visitors an early lead. Just minutes earlier, Vinícius Júnior missed a crucial penalty that could have put Madrid ahead.

Madrid managed to equalize early in the second half when Vinícius found the back of the net in the 50th minute. However, in the dying moments of the match—deep into stoppage time—Hugo Duro scored a dramatic winner to seal the victory for Valencia.

The win saw Valencia climb to 15th place on the table with 34 points from 30 matches. Despite the loss, Real Madrid remain second with 63 points from the same number of games.

Meanwhile, Barcelona were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis at Camp Nou. Gavi scored for the hosts, while Nabil Fekir netted the equalizer for Betis.

Even with the draw, Barcelona stay at the top of the table with 67 points from 30 matches. Betis, with 48 points, hold fifth place as the race for European qualification heats up.
