Baglung, Oct 5: Two people have died after being buried when a mound of earth collapsed while a JCB was excavating a road in Bohragaun, Nisikhola Rural Municipality-3.
District Police Office Chief Phadindra Prasai stated that the incident occurred on the inner road section leading from Jhivakhola to Bohragaun. Three workers were buried when a mound of earth suddenly collapsed while the road was being upgraded by a JCB (Lu 1 Ka 3446) operated by driver Bhadra Malla.
The deceased have been identified as Lal Bahadur Budhathoki,25, of Salyan and Raju Thapa Magar of Udayapur. The third person to be buried, Krishna Bahadur Gharti of Rolpa has been rescued in critical condition and rushed to the nearby medical facility. Budhathoki and Magar died on the spot.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
