RSP forms candidate selection committee for local election

Kathmandu, Oct 3: A meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Central Committee held on Saturday formed a committee for the selection of local election candidates from the party.

The meeting, presided over by RSP chairman Rabi Lamichhane at the party’s central office in Banasthali, formed the panel under the coordination of party general secretary Bipin Acharya.
Spokesperson of the party, Jagdish Kharel, informed that the Central Committee meeting nominated Milan Limbu, Rahbar Ansari, Toshima Karki, Kabindra Burlakoti, Sushant Baidik, Tashi Lhajom and Janak Singh Dhami as the members of the central candidate selection committee.
The chairpersons of the party’s committees in all seven provinces would function as ex-officio members of this panel.

The meeting also nominated chair and deputy chairs of various central departments. Manish Jha has been named the chair of the Diaspora Liaison Department, while Dr Manohar Pradhan chair of the Financial Management Department, Mohanlal Acharya chair of the Legal Affairs and Institutional Compliance Department, Rubina Acharya chair of the Social Justice, Gender Equality and Inclusivity Department, and Sudip Dhakal chair of the Good Governance and State Affairs Department.

 

Similarly, Sulabh Kharel will chair the Department of Legislation, Parliamentary Affairs and Justice System, while Gyanendra Mahata chair of the Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives Department, Deepak Kumar Sah/Mahottari chair of the Labour, Employment, and Social Security Department, Sharmila Khanal chair of the Department of Supply, Market Governance and Consumer Rights, and Anand Bahadur Chand chair of the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and Startups.

Dr Dhananjay Regmi has been nominated as the chair of the Department of Culture, Tourism, and National Heritage, while Samrat Budhathoki as its member.

Dharma KC has been named chief of the Department of Environment, Climate, and Natural Resources, and Rima Bishwakarma chief of the Department of Social Justice and Equity Promotion.
The meeting also decided to launch a campaign of reaching voters’ doorstep under the leadership of the Central Committee and Members of the House of Representatives.

The meeting also extended best wishes on behalf of the party to all Nepalis on the occasion of the upcoming festivals- Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat New Year and Chhath.
