Nawalpur (Nawalparasi), Oct 3: Six people who died in a passenger bus accident this morning at Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurba) along East-West Highway have been identified.
According to the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurba), a passenger bus numbered (Pradesh-3-01-006 B 1553), which was heading from Nepalganj to Kathmandu with 18 passengers, overturned this morning at Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 Daunne. District Police Office Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Pandit informed that 12 other passengers were injured in the accident.
According to Pandit, the bus driver in the accident were 36-year-old Suresh BC of Khajura Rural Municipality-2 of Banke, 32-year-old Dipendra KC of Kohalpur Municipality-3, 55-year-old Ekendraraj Regmi of Kohalpur-10, 22-year-old Krish Kanaujia of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-7, 50-year-old Nirjung Gurung of Bheriganga Municipality-3 of Jajarkot and 65-year-old Narendraraj of Swamikartik Rural Municipality of Bajura.
Out of the 12 passengers who were injured in the accident, eight were sent to the Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital at Bharatpur in Chitwan for further treatment after initial medical treatment at the Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda.
According to the statement issued by the hospital this afternoon, the other four injured have been admitted to Madhya Bindu Hospital and are being treated and kept under health surveillance.
