Kathmandu, Sept 26: The Panchase area in Kaski recorded the highest rainfall at 189 millimeters over the past 24 hours.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rainfall measurements included 172 mm in Archale (Palpa), 170.8 mm in Bharse (Gulmi), 165.2 mm in Kuhun (Myagdi), and 161 mm in Darbang (Myagdi).
Monitoring stations report that rain is currently falling in Bhajani and Dhangadhi Airport (Kailali), Beni (Myagdi), Karkineta (Parbat), Archale (Palpa), and Pachhmul (Syangja).
Meanwhile, water levels in various rivers and streams across Banke, Myagdi, Parbat, Lamjung, Chitwan, and Bhojpur have approached the alert level. Flood monitoring stations indicate that the water level has crossed the alert threshold at the Kiran Nala river in Banke and at Mangalghat in Myagdi.
The Department states that the country is currently under the partial influence of both monsoon winds and westerly winds. Currently, cloudy conditions prevail across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley.
Light to moderate rain is occurring in many places across Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces; in some areas of Bagmati Province; and in a few locations within Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
