Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday extended warm felicitations to the peoples of Pakistan and China on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reaffirming the enduring strength of their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
In his message marking the occasion, the prime minister said since the establishment of diplomatic ties on May 21, 1951, the friendship between Pakistan and China has steadily evolved into a robust partnership built on mutual trust, sovereign equality, and shared aspirations for peace and development.
Sharif said the relationship has continued to grow in strength and strategic significance amid changing regional and global dynamics.
He highlighted China’s achievements in economic development, technological advancement, poverty alleviation, and national modernization.
He said China’s progress continues to serve as an inspiration for the developing world and contributes to global peace and prosperity.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to the one-China principle, the prime minister underscored Islamabad’s support for China on issues related to its core interests and its continued dedication to strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple fields.
He said China’s support has played a key role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He noted that CPEC has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s infrastructure development, energy security, industrial cooperation, and regional connectivity.
Sharif emphasized that both countries remain committed to multilateralism, peaceful coexistence, and inclusive development.
“May the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China continue to grow stronger with every generation,” the prime minister said.
