Washington DC, June 21: The Nepali Embassy in New York has urged the Nepali diaspora to invest in the areas of comparative benefit in motherland, Nepal.
Nepal’s charge d’affaires to the US, Sharad Raj Aaran, requested the Nepali diaspora to mobilize capital for prosperity in Nepal. The discussion dwelt on Nepal’s prosperity, trade, investment and innovation by keeping in mind the associated opportunities and challenges.
The knowledge, skills and capital of the Nepalis living abroad could be utilized well for the developments in motherland, he said, adding that Nepal government had created an investment friendly atmosphere for non-resident Nepalis.
Consul general Laxman Khanal argued technology, tourism and energy were such areas that could ensure high return. So, Nepalis should not miss the investment opportunities, he added.
Industrialist Lok Tiwari viewed the Nepalis living in the US with their engagements in different professions should be oriented to Nepal’s development. The remittance Nepal receives deserves investment in productive sector, he added.
