Modi says India eager to deepen multifaceted ties with Nepal’s new government

Kathmandu, June, 3 : Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Nepal’s Rastriya Swatantra Party, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday during his ongoing visit to India.

The two leaders discussed a range of issues concerning bilateral interests, according to reports.

Following the meeting, Modi said he was delighted to meet Lamichhane and welcomed his commitment to working closely together for a shared and prosperous future.

“Nepal is a priority partner under our ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. We look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights,” Modi said.

Lamichhane arrived in India on Monday. On Tuesday, he received a grand welcome at the BJP headquarters and also held separate meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah.
