Agency, Sep 15: Leeds United continued their unbeaten start to the English Premier League season with a convincing 4–1 victory over Newcastle United on Monday night, moving into the league’s top three.
Playing at Elland Road, Leeds secured the comfortable win through goals from Jayden Bogle, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, along with an own goal from Newcastle. Bajoumana Toure scored Newcastle’s only goal of the match.
Leeds took the lead in the 32nd minute when Lewis Miley turned the ball into his own net. Just two minutes later, Bogle doubled Leeds’ advantage with a well-taken finish.
Calvert-Lewin added a third goal in first-half stoppage time, giving Leeds a commanding 3–0 lead at the break.
Leeds continued to dominate after the interval, with Okafor making it 4–0 in the 59th minute. Newcastle managed to score a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Toure, but Leeds comfortably held on for all three points.
The victory leaves Leeds third in the Premier League with 8 points from four matches. Newcastle, meanwhile, have 5 points from four games and sit 12th in the standings.
