Kathmandu, June 17: In the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) going on today, lawmaker of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harka Raj Rai, demanded the government that it ensured proper food and housing to the landless people kept at various holding centres of the Kathmandu Valley.
Rai also sought clarification from Prime Minister over his statement on Nepal-India border. Lawmaker of the Nepali Communist Party, Gopal Sharma, reminded that constitution had made government accountable to parliament. He also demanded Speaker’s ruling for justification from Prime Minister on his statement relating to Nepal-India border. He showed concern over irresponsible views made public by some ministers.
CPN UML lawmaker Kripa Ram Rana said none was above nation. Humane treatment to those staying in holding centres is imperative, he added.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Chandra Mohan Yadav also sought compunction and correction from Prime Minister over his remark on Nepal-India border. He also demanded fair role of Speaker.
RSP lawmaker Ganesh Karki drew attention over lawmaker Yadav’s view relating to comment on Speaker’s role.
