Kathmandu, Sept 25: Nepal and the Republic of Namibia have established diplomatic relations.
With this, Nepal has expanded its diplomatic ties with 187 countries.
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal and Minister of International Relations and Trade of Namibia, Selma Ashipala Musavyi, signed an agreement establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly underway in New York.
Before signing the agreement, the minister duo discussed various issues of mutual interests, according to the Foreign Ministry.
On the occasion, discussion was also held about loss of lives and properties from recent water-induced disaster in Nepal.
The ministers emphasized the need of cooperation for shared progress and prosperity of both nations and the people by exploring new potentials of bilateral cooperation between Nepal and Namibia.
