Lawmakers ask govt to immediately distribute relief materials to flood-hit people

Kathmandu, Sept 17: Lawmakers have demanded the government to immediately provide relief materials, received from donor agencies to the flood affected people.

Speaking in an urgent hour of meeting of the House of Representatives today, Yagya Mani Neupane, shared that the relief materials received from donor agencies are stored at warehouse of Tribhuvan International Airport and asked the government to distribute the aid to the victims.

Bodh Narayan Shrestha demanded the government to launch search and rescue operation at private houses, buildings of financial institutions and religious places buried in the flood.

Similarly, Ganga Devi Shrestha draw government’s attention for proper resettlement of flood victims and collection of authentic details of the buried houses and losses. She also urged the government to start construction of structures to stop Bhotekoshi encroachment.

Yasoda Kumari Baral demanded to immediately resolve problem of cooking gas as consumers were hit hard due to its crisis while Tikabhadra Hamal requested the government to help flood-hit people.

Bishnu Bahadur Khadka complained of lack of specialist doctors at Karnali Provincial Hospital while Yubaraj Dulal drew government’s attention to immediately pay dues to service providers of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.
