Kathmandu, Sept 23: Khagendra Roka Magar has advanced to round of 16 in boxing under the 20th Asian Games taking place in Japan.
In today’s preliminary round match, Khagendra entered round of 16 defeating Macau’s player Alvin John Reyes Salinas 5-0 towards Men’s 60 kg category.
This is the first victory for Nepal in boxing in the 20th Asian Games. Chandra Bahadur Thapa was eliminated from first round match under Men’s 55 kg category held on Tuesday. Similarly, Ramisha Shrestha was defeated by player of Vietnam towards Women’s 51 kg category in boxing.
