Kathmandu, April 29: Nepal has been defeated by Oman in the match held today under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.
Nepal lost to Oman by 102 runs on the basis of the Duckworth Lewis method, as the match was interrupted by rainfall before it could be completed. In the match played at the Tribhuvan University Ground in Kirtipur, chasing a mammoth victory target of 306 runs, Nepal had scored 155 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 36.5 overs.
For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airi contributed the most with 60 runs in 62 balls while Bhim Sarki scored 28, Asif Sheikh 19, while Arif Sheikh and Gulshan Jha added 14 runs each.
Oman’s Nadeem Khan took three wickets while Shakeel Ahmed took two wickets. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Oman scored a total of 305 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Jatinder Singh scored a century, 130 runs in 96 balls while Jiten Ramanandi scored 43 runs while Aryan Bista added 35 runs.
For the bowling side, Sompal Kami took 4 wickets for 59 runs in 9 overs while Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airi took 2 wickets each.
This is Nepal’s second match today as part of the ODI series between Nepal, the UAE and Oman. In the previous match, Nepal had defeated the UAE.
