Home Minister Gurung directs to clear encroached land of Koshi Hospital

Biratnagar, July 5: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has directed the officials and stakeholders to immediately clear the encroached land of Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar.

During an inspection of the site this evening, Minister Gurung asked the administration to demolish the infrastructures built by encroaching upon the government and public land.

Minister for Health and Food Safety Nisha Mehta was also present during the surprise inspection of the hospital.

Minister Gurung reached the site to take stock of the situation there after reports of land encroachment from different social organization and development of some infrastructure to lease the property for commercial purpose.

Earlier, the hospital administration had given a 15-day ultimatum to clear the infrastructures built in the encroached land.

On the occasion, Minister Gurung said that no one will be spared for encroaching the public land, which he added is against the law.

He viewed that local administration and security bodies will be fully mobilized to clear the hospital’s land.

Likewise, Minister Mehta said that it was unfortunate that the illegally built properties were not cleared even after the deadline given by the hospital passed and vowed to clear the site within a week.
