Kathmandu, Sept. 8; The fourth batch of emergency relief supplies provided by China to Nepal arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon aboard a Y-20A large transport aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force.
Mahabir Pun, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation of Nepal and Zhang Maoming, Ambassador of China to Nepal, attended the handover ceremony held for the relief supplies.
The latest batch mainly consists of rescue hovercrafts, stainless steel permanent-magnet flood pumps, spare batteries, mortuary freezers and solar-powered lights.
The relief items have been selected and supplied based on Nepal’s most urgent needs in the disaster-affected areas. The equipment is expected to provide strong support for emergency rescue, relief operations and subsequent disaster-response efforts.
The rescue hovercrafts and flood pumps are particularly expected to strengthen rescue capacity in flood-affected and waterlogged areas, while solar-powered lighting equipment and other supplies will support relief and recovery operations in affected communities.
The latest assistance reflects continued Chinese support for Nepal’s emergency response and disaster-management efforts. The arrival of the fourth batch is expected to further strengthen Nepal’s capacity to respond to emergencies and provide timely assistance to people affected by disasters.
