Kathmandu, Nov 23: Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, Upendra Yadav, has urged the government to create the atmosphere for election in a way people would feel confident for voting.
Addressing a party gathering organized at Durgabhagawati rural municipality-4 of Rautahat district on Sunday, Chairman Yadav said although the election was announced for coming March 5, atmosphere for it was awaited.
The government must prepare the atmosphere where people feel safe to voting. “The morale of police persons has declined record low in history. If the police persons employed for election security are not morally upheld, it would be difficult to manage election,” he expressed worry, underscoring the strengthening of election security.
He further argued that it would be undemocratic to hold election by mobilizing military. It will be a wrong practice in deed to mobilize army in election, Chair Yadav added.
In his view, the prolonged incumbency of particular parties and leaders- 35 years in position after restoration of democracy- caused the Gen Z protest. He termed the forthcoming election as a bellwether.
Also speaking at the programme presided over by JSP Rautahat Chair Raju Yadav were- central Vice Chair of party, Govinda Chaudhary, and leaders Yogendra Raya Yadav, Sheikh Fulbabu, Kishori Yadav, Puja Chaudhary, Shova Devi, Kiran Thakur and Raj Kumar Das.
The leaders spoke on the national politics following the Gen Z protest, party activities and future course.
