Barcelona open 14-point lead at Top of La Liga

Barcelona have extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table to 14 points after a hard-fought 2–1 victory over CA Osasuna on Saturday night.

Playing at El Sadar Stadium, FC Barcelona secured the win thanks to late goals from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Osasuna pulled one back through Raul Garcia, but it wasn’t enough to deny Barcelona all three points.

After a tightly contested match, Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 81st minute to give Barcelona the lead. Just five minutes later, Torres doubled the advantage, putting the visitors in control. Osasuna responded quickly, with Garcia scoring in the 88th minute to make it 2–1, but Barcelona held firm in the closing stages to secure the win.

With this result, Barcelona move to 88 points from 34 matches, strengthening their grip on the top spot. Osasuna, meanwhile, sit 10th in the table with 42 points from the same number of games.

Real Madrid, who have played one game fewer, remain second with 74 points. If Madrid lose their next match, Barcelona could seal the league title with four games to spare. Otherwise, the decisive moment may come in next week’s highly anticipated El Clasico, where Barcelona will have the chance to clinch the title in front of their home fans.
