Kathmandu, Aug 8: A trailer of the film ‘Nametine Ghau’ (Inerasable wound) produced by reflecting the stories of 33 acid attack survivors (teenage girls) has been released on Thursday.
The trailer was released amidst a news conference in New Baneshwor. The film has a brief appearance by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Director, producer and actor Ramit Dhungana informed that dignified personalities including the Prime Minister were requested for this sight in the film which dwells on the harrowing stories of acid victims. The political leaders including the PM had a role on bringing the ordinance against acid attack, which seeks justice to the teenage girls who are at the victims of acid attacks.
“I wanted to reflect real stories in the film, so proposed dignitaries accordingly. More number of films on social ills are essential,” he said, expressing gratitude to PM Oli for giving his time despite his hectic schedule.
Similarly, acid attack survivor Muskan Khatun has also played a role in the film. “This cinema helps to assuage the agony and trauma of acid attack survivor by ensuring State assistance,” Khatun observed.
Even lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has acted in the film.
