Kathmandu, Aug 29: The government has released Rs 67.5 million for the local governments battered by the flash floods in Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on last Wednesday.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has released Rs 67.5 million for 15 flood-affected local governments by Friday (August 28).
According to the Authority, the amount will be distributed to the affected local level units as needed.
The 35th meeting of the executive committee of the Authority, held on Thursday, decided to release this amount from the funds available in the its treasury.
The funds, according to the Authority, will be provided as grant assistance based on classification into severely affected, affected, and normally affected areas.
The Authority stated that the grants will be distributed based on the damage in Rasuwa’s Uttar Gaya, Gosainkunda, Kalika, and Amachhoding rural municipalities; Nuwakot’s Bidur and Belkot municipalities; Tarkeshwor and Kispang rural municipalities; Dhading’s Benighat Rorang, Gajuri, Galchi, and Siddhalekh rural municipalities; Gorkha’s Gandaki rural municipality; and Tanahu’s Devghat and Abukhaireni.
Immediate relief will be provided to the local level units from the Central Disaster Management Fund through the district disaster management committees in accordance with the Local Disaster Management Fund Operation Procedures, 2079.
