Guideline issued to bring uniformity to application formats in government offices

Kathmandu, Aug 12: The government has issued guideline with the aim of bringing uniformity to application formats used for public services provided by government offices.

Issuing the ‘Formats of Applications Used in Government Offices and Its Implementation Guideline, 2083’, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers instructed to implement this guideline in all government offices, shared Spokesperson of OPMCM, Hem Raj Aryal.
The guideline was issued to make service delivery easy, smooth, effective, service-seeker friendly and based on information technology by ending the situation of using different application formats for similar services providing by government offices, added the OPMCM.

As per the guideline, all government offices and public bodies of federation, provinces and local levels have to prepare separate formats of applications for each public service they are providing.
An arrangement has also been made to prepare application format in simple, clear and Nepali language as well as in English language as per the need and such formats should be prepared in a way that could be used even digitally.

Name of service providing office, details of application, requested service, required self-declaration, date, signature of applicant, list of document to be attached, and other details required for office purpose should be included in the application format.

Every government office should prepare the list of each service it provides within seven days from the date the guideline come into effect.

Application format for each service should be approved from office chief after preparing it.
The approved application formats should be published in office’s notice board and website as well as an arrangement should be made to provide the formats to service recipients free of cost.
The government has also made arrangement where each office should provide prescribed application formats in its website, QR code, electronic forms and downloadable PDFs to materialize paperless service delivery.

Each office should also set up ‘Customer Help Desk’ to assist service seekers in preparing application, filing forms, necessary documents and services. Services providing from help desk should be free of cost.
