Kathmandu, July 9: Retired Chief Secretary of Nepal government, Suman Raj Aryal, was bidden farewell and the newly appointed Chief Secretary Gobinda Bahadur Karki welcomed amidst a programme organised on Thursday.
At a programme organised at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, outgoing Chief Secretary Aryal expressed happiness for getting opportunity to serve the nation and the people for around three decades.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s political advisor Asim Shah shared that though the political government is temporary, the role of civil administration is crucial to run the country because bureaucracy is a permanent government.
He mentioned that cooperation between the government and bureaucracy is indispensable, clarifying that evaluation of employees is based on their performance. Shah hoped civil administration would be more effective under the leadership of newly appointed Chief Secretary Karki.
Expressing commitment to fulfill his new duties with honesty, impartiality and responsibility, newly appointed Chief Secretary Karki stressed that policy related to civil service reforms forwarded by the government would be implemented effectively for the welfare of public administration and civil service.
On the occasion, on the behalf of Prime Minister Shah, the political advisor presented a letter of appreciation to the retired Chief Secretary Aryal.
