Kathmandu, May 19: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has unanimously approved the nomination of proposed Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma.
Committee Chairperson Bodhnarayan Shrestha said the meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday endorsed Sharma’s name unanimously.
During the hearing, proposed Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma presented his action plan, which was followed by discussions among committee members. The committee had convened the meeting earlier in the day to review Sharma’s work plan and complaints lodged against him. A total of 16 complaints had been filed against Sharma.
As per the constitutional provision, the President appoints the Chief Justice after the Parliamentary Hearing.
