Kathmandu, Feb, 14: Millsberry emerged as the champions of the 9th Kasthamandap Inter A-Level Boys’ Basketball Tournament on Friday, securing the prestigious title after an impressive performance throughout the competition.
In the final match, Millsberry’s Bishesh Shakya scored 4 points, while Saransh Bhattarai and Sangharsh Kathayat contributed 2 points each. For NAMI College, Pame Hang Rai added 6 points.
Bishesh Shakya of Millsberry was declared the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament for his outstanding performance.
Earlier on Friday, in the semifinal matches, Millsberry narrowly defeated host Kasthamandap College 15–14 to book their place in the final. In the other semifinal, NAMI College overcame Islington College with an 11–5 victory to set up the championship clash.
The winners were awarded by Nepal Basketball Association President Bhim Singh Gurung, Kasthamandap’s Founder and Principal Dr. Shiva Thapa, and Founder Ila Piya during a special ceremony.
According to Kasthamandap’s ECA In-Charge Sundar Budhathoki, a total of six teams competed in the two-day tournament, which was conducted under a league-cum-knockout format.
