Kathmandu, Aug 26: The death toll in the devastating flash flood occurred in Rasuwa district on Wednesday morning reached 95. The information shared by the Nepal Police recorded the death of 27 women, 37 men, six girls, five boys and 20 unidentified ones.
Among the fatalities, one male body was found in Rasuwa, and five bodies of women and six men in Nuwakot. The number of bodies retrieved from Dhading was 18- 11 women, 5 men and two unidentified ones, the police added.
Gorkha recorded the recovery of 16 bodies- one woman, four men, 10 unidentified ones and a boy; while Chitwan recorded 33 bodies- 10 women, 10 men, two boys, three girls and eight unidentified persons.
The police added that bodies of three male, and one each of boy and girl were recovered in Tanahu district. Nawalparasi retrieved the bodies of eight men and three girls.
So far, 63 flood survivors airlifted to safety have been undergoing treatment at various health facilities in Kathmandu.
Nepal Police persons have also gone missing since the devastating flash flood. Ten police persons went missing from Timure, three from Rasuwagadhi, five from Mailung and one each from Betrabati and Haku.
