Saroj Yadav Appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province

Janakpurdham, Nov 10:   CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav has been appointed the new Chief Minister of Madhesh Province.

Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari made the appointment on Sunday morning under Article 168(3) of the Constitution of Nepal. Bhandari, who was en route to Kathmandu for medical treatment, administered the oath of office to Yadav at a hotel in Sindhuli.

The position had remained vacant after Jitendra Sonal of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) resigned from the post. As the leader of the largest party in the Provincial Assembly, Yadav was appointed to lead the provincial government.
