Tripartite discussion begins at the call of PM

Kathmandu, Oct 29: A tripartite discussion has begun among the representatives of the government, political parties and Gen Z at the call of Prime Minster Sushila Karki.
Some 16 representatives from the political parties and 14 from Gen Z are participating in the discussion underway at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar.

On behalf of the government, Prime Minister Sushila Karki along with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha, and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun are attending the meeting being held for the purpose of enabling election environment.

Likewise, on behalf of the Gen Z groups, 13 participants are representing ‘Indigenous Gen Z Collective,’ ‘How to Desh Bikas’, and ‘Gen Z Movement Alliance’ are attending the meeting.

Among key agenda of discussion include enabling environment for the election scheduled for 5 March 2026, and building shared political understanding.

From the political parties, Nepali Congress spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat, central member Mahesh Bartaula and Yuba Sangh Chairperson Kshitij Thewe on behalf of the CPN (UML), and leaders from CPN (Maoist Center) – Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Barshaman Pun, and Madhab Sapkota are attending the meeting.

Similarly, Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle and central member Nisha Dangi on behalf of the Rastriya Swatantra Party; Prakash Jwala and Rajendra Pandey from CPN (Unified Socialist), and General Secretary Rajendra Gurung and spokesperson Mohan Shrestha from Rastriya Prajatantra Party are participating.

Representing Gen Z groups, 13 representatives including Monika Niraula, Raksha Bam, Puruswottam Yadav, Samana Lawati, Khemraj Saud, Upa Arjun Chamling, Bhoj Bikram Thapa, Miraj Dhungana, Bibek Dahal, James Karki, Rehanraj Dangol, Amit Khanal, and Rajan Ranamagar are present during the discussion.

The government has been holding several rounds of consultations to ensure the success of the elections.

Earlier, on October 21, discussions were held between the government and political parties at the invitation of Prime Minister Karki.

It may be noted that earlier too discussions were held between Prime Minister Karki and the Gen Z group on the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel.
