Kathmandu, June 25: The Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) had drawn a conclusion that progress of the national pride Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Project is not satisfactory.
Today’s meeting of the Committee decided to make a comprehensive study of the concerned documents of the project as its progress details up to now are not found satisfactory.
Committee President, Deepak Bahadur Singh informed that the meeting has decided to hold further discussion related to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. “Project progress has appeared to be only one percent. Reasons behind the dismal progress were discussed in the meeting”, he shared, adding, “The meeting decided to obtain further information from the line minister and demand related additional documents of the project”.
The meeting also directed the government not to make any delay in appointing the project chiefs in national pride projects.
It came to the light that the project chief was not appointed for the diversion project for nine months. The Raman Construction JV Petal Company is the contractor company of the project.
