Kathmandu, Sept 23: Nepal suffered a defeat in its second match of the women’s kabaddi competition in the ongoing 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Nepal lost to Chinese Taipei with a score of 37–18.
In the match held at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium in Japan, the two teams were tied at 13–13 in the first half. However, Chinese Taipei dominated the Nepali team in the second half, and scored 24 points, while Nepal could only add five points.
Earlier, Nepal had defeated Thailand in its opening match. Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ of the women’s kabaddi tournament, which features eight participating teams.
Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Chinese Taipei are in Nepal’s group, while Group ‘A’ consists of Iran, India, Bangladesh, and Japan.
Nepal will play its final group-stage match against Sri Lanka on Thursday. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
