Kathmandu, Sept 22: Evana Thapa and Rubin Maharjan of Nepal has won today’s match in table tennis mix doubles under the 20th Asian Games taking place at Aichi Nagoya in Japan.
In the first-round match held at Sky Hall Toyota in Japan on Tuesday, Evana and Rubin defeated Muhammad Khan and Kalsum Khan of Pakistan by 3-0.
Nepal won the first set by 11-6, second set by 11-8 and third set by 11-4. The team of Evana and Rubin will now face the mixed double team of Hong Kong on Wednesday.
However, Samyog Kapali and Nabita Shrestha, of Nepal were eliminated from the first round under the same category.
