“Beautiful China” photo exhibition held in Pokhara

China Cultural Center Nepal in facilitation of Nepal China Academy organized a photo exhibition in Pokhara.

During the photo exhibition program, the head of the Chinese Cultural Center Ms. Xiao Jiang said that the photographs on display showed contemporary Chinese cities and villages, natural landscapes, cultural and historical sites as well as social movements and the development of culture. She hoped that the audience would have more conceptual knowledge of China through the pictures.

“Fewa Lake is still charming, Machhapuchre Peak is still high and is protecting and promoting this famous tourist city,” Ms. Xiao added, “The old bustle of Pokhara has started again, shops are open and we are happy to see the crowd of foreign tourists.”

During the speech, Jiang made it clear about the relationship between China and Nepal. “The history of friendly relations between Nepal and China is long. In recent years, China and Nepal have been cooperating more closely under the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. Cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction such as airports, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, network communication is getting deeper,” she added.

During the function, the Assistant Campus Head of Prithvi Narayan Campus Pokhara Mr. Min Raj Lamsal shared the information about centuries old Nepal-China relations. Lamsal also thanked China for supporting Nepali students with scholarships in the field of education.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Narayan Campus Deputy Professor Amrit Kharel spoke about the development of China from ancient China to the present. He also briefly described the China assistance to Nepal.

The program was chaired by Retired Professor Ramraj Regmi, Marxist Author and Honorary of Nepal China Academy. During the presidency, Regmi expressed his commitment that Nepal is always in favor of the one-China policy and supports initiatives promulgated by China for the shared future of mankind.

Trideep Gurung and Shiva Paudel delivered the welcome speech at the event. The program was moderated by Bipin Acharya. During the operation, Acharya said that China-Nepal relations have always been high and always friendly.

Nepal China Academy has been in operation to promote centuries old Nepal China friendship relation since 2006. It was inaugurated by then Chinese ambassador to Nepal  Sun Heiping. It is now led in presidency of Melsam Ojha.
