Landslide leaves three people dead in Kaski

Kathmandu: A landslide occurred at Machhapuchhre rural municipality of Kaski district, some 200 km west from Kathmandu, had left three people dead Friday morning.

The landslide that blanketed the house of local Prem Raj BK at Khorakomukn in the ward-8 at around 5:45 am killed his two grandsons (Kushal, 15, and Samir, 14) and a granddaughter Rejina BK, 16), informed ward chair Krishna Prasad Dawadi.

The security personnel and locals had recovered the dead bodies from the landslide. The landslide occurred beyond 200 metres had swept away the house made up of stone and mud, Dawadi added.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of District Police Office Subas Hamal confirmed the death of three persons in the incident of landslide. He informed that a team comprising Chief District Officer Gyan Prasad Dhakal and Police Chief Jeevan Ram Shrestha has already reached the site. The incident site is 20-km north-east from Pokhara city, the largest touristic city of Nepal
