Kathmandu, July 21: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has admitted the use of wrong practices for acquiring power and authority in the past 10 years.
At a launching of NC general-secretary Gururaj Ghimire authored books – ‘Buddha, BP Ra Ajaka Neta’ and ‘Liliputka Laghumanab’, Thapa claimed that there were several wrong practices in the politics of Nepal during the time.
“In the last decade, all actions were taken for the sake of gaining power and authority,” he said, adding that, “It is time to forget the dark days of the past and move forward on a new path.”
Thapa added the NC would move forward adopting its hard-earned values and principles. “There was a time when our leader Ganeshman Ji took a spade and went out on the streets, all residents of Kathmandu would immediately rise,” he said, adding, “Now Congress is a timely and relevant party, I call for moving forward with the hope of rejuvenation.”
NC Vice President, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, said that author Ghimire did a laudable job by daring to release a book amidst political adversity.
He noted that it was the sacrifices of Buddha and BP Koirala that allowed them to remain in everyone’s hearts.
Likewise, another Vice President Pushpa Bhusal emphasized the need to adopt the philosophies of Buddha and BP in practical life.
NC’s parliamentary party leader, Bhishmaraj Angdembe, stated that one can emerge a successful writer if s/he combines humility in politics with anarchism in literature.
Journalist Raj Kumar Baniya reviewed the book ‘Liliputka Laghumanab’.
NC general-secretary Ghimire said he has been giving continuity to writing in the unfavourable situation.
