Palpa, Sept 27: Two persons died and three others went missing in the landslides occurred at Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-2, and Ribdikot Rural Municipality-6 in the district today.
The District Police Office confirmed the deaths of Sher Bahadur Chidi, 75, from Rupse Rajauli of Mathagadhi-2, and Krishna Kumari Saru, 59, from Thimure Dhustung of Ribdikot-6. The bodies have been already retrieved and taken to the District Hospital Pala for post-mortem.
Similarly, a landslide at Kaseni Bhaisekatta of Mathagadhi-3 buried a house of Lil Bahadur Gharti Magar, where three individuals: two members of Gharti’s family and a daughter of his neighbour went missing.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhimlal Bhattarai, police have launched a search for the missing.
