Kathmandu, Aug 14: The Supreme Court has ordered police to present chief editor of Jana Aastha weekly, Kishor Shrestha, in the court on Monday.
A single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal issued such order. Journalist Shrestha’s wife Saraswoti Shrestha had filed habeas corpus writ on Thursday, demanding his release.
The writ demanded senior journalist Shrestha’s release, citing he was arrested without any basis. He was arrested on Wednesday night. The Kathmandu District Court on Thursday gave permission to keep Shrestha in police custody for three days.
