Spokesperson for the Russian presidency (the Kremlin) Dmitry Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin’s invitation to his US counterpart Donald Trump to visit Moscow still stands.
“I have no doubt that the Russian president would be pleased to host his American counterpart in Moscow. He mentions this to him during their phone conversations each time,” the spokesperson said.
Peskov did not specify a possible date for the US president’s visit to Moscow, merely confirming that the invitation was still on the table.
The last publicly announced phone call between the two presidents took place on April 29, and lasted for more than an hour and a half, and addressed current international issues and the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East.
